Dilemma of a design aspirant is to understand what to study for NID entrance exam. There is a confusion regarding the syllabus of design entrance exam among students. First of all it is important to understand that Design as profession is different from any other profession. The aim of a designer is to give solution to the problem. Solution that is unconventional, creative and feasible. To do that, a designer looks for inspiration everywhere around him/her. This requires certain intelligence, creativity and critical thinking ability. To test all these qualities in a person, he/she cannot be confined within the boundary of syllabus.
Having said that, it does not mean that there is nothing to read for design entrance exams. If we analyze the previous year papers and try to categorize them under headings and subheadings, we can easily identify that there are certain topics that are asked every year in these exams. To make it easy for you we have categorized it for you. In this article we will discuss syllabus for Part-A of the examination i.e. DAT for NID, NAT for CEED/UCEED and MCQ’s for NIFT.
